Context
I was asked to re-think and re-design the user journey for an existing app that is well known on the market. It was a technically heavy project that required not only understanding of how people employ the app in their daily tasks, but also a deeper understanding of the technical context and its possibilities and limitations.
02
My role
Business developer: Made sure the redesigned app stayed aligned with what the market actually needed, translating technical constraints and real user behaviour into an experience worth staying for.
UX lead: Improved the user experience and optimised the task flow, so that people using the app are taken by hand on every screen. Provided input to the UI designer and together shaped the company's design system for mobile.
03
The challenge
The main challenge was keeping the redesign aligned with what the market actually needed, without ignoring the technical limitations shaping what was possible to build.
04
Process
- Stakeholder and expert interviews
- Understanding market and user needs
- Understanding of technical setup
- Iterative design process (design, test, learn and improve)
05
Outcome
A redesigned experience validated against real market needs.

Learnings
Once again, I got confirmed that my technical background is a huge advantage for me as a business developer.
I am confident in situations where I have to analyse a technically complex setup that is an integrated part of a digital solution. Understanding of the technical setup helped me to define presets for the app. Furthermore, that knowledge informed my decisions on which information to hide and which to present upfront.
